Baywatch: The 2010 San Francisco Giants

Welcome to a special edition of The Dodgerhater.

I've been meaning to make a highlight video like this for quite awhile, but didn't know quite how to do it. Thanks to Gina on Twitter, I got the right programs going, and was able to compile possibly the most epic Giants highlight film made this year.

Baywatch is possibly the sleaziest, most heavily watched show in history, and I, like many of you, enjoyed it for years in the 1990s. The song was one of my favorite parts of the show. Inspired recently by the Roast of David Hasselhoff on Comedy Central, I tracked down the theme song on iTunes. Little did I know, it was performed by a living legend: Jimi Jamison.

Jamison is better known as the lead singer of the epic 1980s band Survivor, and his impassioned and inspirational lyrics really speak to me, especially when it comes to rooting for the Giants.

It's all about picking each other up, having each other's back, and giving it your all. Epic and sleazy, but truer words have never been spoken.

Jimi Jamison - "I'm Always Here"

Some people stand in the darkness
Afraid to step into the light
Some people need to help somebody
On the edge of surrenders inside

Don’t you worry,
it’s gonna be alright
‘cause I’m always ready
I won’t let you outta my sight

(I’ll be ready) I’ll be ready
(Whenever you fear) oh don’t you fear
(I’ll be ready)
Forever and always, I’m always here

In us we all have the power
But sometimes it’s so hard to see
And instinct is stronger than reason
It’s just human nature to me

Don’t you worry,
it’s gonna be alright
‘cause I’m always ready
I won’t let you outta my sight

(I’ll be ready) I’ll be ready
(Whenever you fear) oh don’t you fear
(I’ll be ready)
Forever and always, I’m always here

‘cause I’m always ready
I won’t let you outta my sight

(I’ll be ready) I’ll be ready
(Whenever you fear) oh don’t you fear
(I’ll be ready)
Forever and always, I’m always here
Forever and always, I’m always here

  1. Good song choice for the vid, but I could have done without the old TV show clips mixed in...
